Corinth Canal

At a very short distance from Loutraki, just 6 km, you can visit the Isthmus of Corinth. A narrow strip of about 6 kilometers that connects the Saronic Gulf with the Gulf of Corinth. The idea of opening the Isthmus had started around 602 BC. by Periander. The realization of the idea came in the 19th century with the Industrial Revolution. The opening work started in 1882 and was completed after 11 years in 1893. Today the canal serves around 12,000 ships a year and is a unique destination for Bungy Jumping enthusiasts.

Holy Monasteries in Loutraki

Loutraki is known for the presence of holy churches and monasteries which are important historical and religious monuments of the region.
